Fundment offers climate philanthropy option to clients

Have you ever noticed how innovations in technology are making smarter giving a feature of everyday life?

Whether it's simplifying the ability to fundraise through services like Just Giving, bringing investors and causes together through investment platforms like Ethex, or making contactless donations a reality, tech has transformed philanthropy.

The rise in online giving is pretty relentless. In fact, the Charities Aid Foundation's UK Giving Report 2023 revealed that the percentage of donations made online has grown to 26% in 2022 from 20% in 2019. Donations made by direct debit are now more popular than cash: 37% for direct debits vs cash at 35%.

So, the way we look at, there are bound to be advisers with clients out there who would love to have a way to make charitable donations really easily but wonder how they can.

Coincidentally, we were recently introduced to Jack Chellman from the Global Returns Project. The ability to contribute to a portfolio of climate charities is a really novel way to engage investors.

We love the way the GRP tracks the effectiveness and scalability of its selection of charities. It offers a level of transparency and evidence of tangible impact that mean investors can actually see the difference their contribution makes.

In fact, the whole transparency thing reminded us a lot of the philosophy driving the design of our custom indexing feature. Our technology can help advisers help clients do whatever they want with their money - including charitable giving.

It just happens that GRP's thing is climate change.

But because it's built right here at Fundment, our technology is in the perfect position to make this kind of philanthropic endeavour possible.

And so we're happy to say that the ablity for your clients to donate to the GRP is now available.

What are we hoping for? That this partnership will inspire other successful collaborations so more and more financial services companies offer clients the choice to make a positive impact however they want.
